This Isn't Love

"DON'T YOU SEE I LOVE YOU, I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY WITH YOU JUST LET ME IN," the woman screamed banging on the door.

He had already called 911 but they didn't seem to be in any rush to get to him. They didn't understand the gravity of this situation. They thought it was just some marital issues. She started ramming her body against the door. She would get in sooner or later. Her body didn't have much mass, but she was tenacious and even after ramming herself into the door no less than twenty times, she wasn't slowing down. The man could see the cheap doorway starting to crack from her repeated slamming. He ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. He would arm herself, if she got in, she would still have a fight on her hands.

The door flies open and she tumbles forward on the floor with a giggle. He knows this is when he should lunge forward and stab her but he's paralyzed by fear. This woman was just a regular at the bar he worked for. Now she was forcing her way into his home. She had foul intentions for sure, even if she didn't say that.

"You don't have to love me. But, I knew you were the one when you found my missing earring. Just like the prince returning the glass slipper to Cinderella. You can't see it now, but we're meant to be together," her voice calm. She acts as if this situation is completely normal.

"Get out of my house," his voice is shaky as he points the knife towards this strange woman.

The knife didn't scare her. She just moved forward. He could only back up, not sure if he could stab a woman. She wasn't making any wild moves, but he wasn't going to let his guard down now. If he could just get past her, he could make it out the door and get to help.

She lunged for him. He didn't think he could do it a few moments ago. No, he stabbed the knife deep into her arm. When she yelled he took the opportunity to run. A wild swing of her arm smacked him across the face. It didn't drop him, but he tripped and ran into the coffee table. She looked at her own hands, shocked she would hurt the man she held so dear.

"I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to. I won't do it again. But if you had just loved me the right way it wouldn't have happened," she inched closer.

He knew what he was capable of now. He was leaving this house right now. He lifted the coffee table and flipped it towards her and leapt to his feet. He runs out the door and down his front steps. As he screams, and wakes his neighbors alerting them of the danger she stands in the door watching as if this is all so normal.

"I'll see you later darling," she called out to him.
