The following is an excerpt from the author's latest book of poetry, 7 Years is a Decade, available now.
My heart blooms when I see your smile
The way you tilt your head when blushing makes me smile
I can smell all of you. My testosterone spikes
I know your heart yearns for the moment we embrace
Waiting for the switch to turn on our love
The instance our tenderness bangs, talk to me like its your first time
Whisper your desires into my skull
Tell me just how you want it, just how you like it, just how I can save you
Lay your hands on my chest and ride
Customers don’t matter right now, they don’t exist
No puedo salvarte
I can’t save you
You got kids by a loser
He don’t want you like I want you
El no te amo como yo te amo
I can only give you a good time
When we clock in your walls collapse
There’s an ocean down aisle 1
You melt in my arms but you always put yourself back together for him
When I quit these organisms stop.
What will you do then?
How will you come now?
You pretend what we have doesn’t exist
All for a man that doesn’t treasure your name
