These Walls #12

"You worry too much about me."

"Is worry about someone I love wrong?"

"You do know I'm a man?"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I don't need you to protect me. I didn't date you because I needed protection. I dated you, because I like you. I know I'm gay, but I'm still a man."

"I didn't say you weren't a man."

"But you implied I needed you to protect me."

"I suppose but it doesn't hurt to have me around."

"It doesn't hurt me to have you around. I'm not secretive. But you haven't told anyone you like men. It could hurt you or you career."

"What?"

"We're happy right now. But we might not be in the future. You're not willing to risk it all with me, so this is casual. Even if it's been going on for a while now."

"Risk it all?"

"Yeah. We talked about it. Wanting to adopt kids, get married and you won't make a move. But you're trying to protect me, and I don't need you for that."

"Are you breaking up with me?"

"No, I'm asking if this is really what you want."
