Knee for a Knee

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. That's the way the saying goes," Moses gloated as he stood over Alexander.

"Then the whole world goes blind, stop doing shit halfway," Alexander yelled back.

"It's a good thing, I'm not taking an eye," Moses chuckled.

He slammed a hammer into Alexander's knee, again, violently until it caved. Moses dropped the hammer, ignoring the screams and walked away from the battle. There was no gloating or joy, he didn't feel remorse, but he didn't feel the excitement he felt prior. Alexander had crippled him in their last meeting years ago. Moses had struggled and worked hard to get back into fighting shape, to walk again without aide. Revenge drove him, and now he had it and yet, he felt nothing.
